Ruger® M77® Hawkeye® .375 Alaskan Rifle Earns an NRA "Golden Bullseye Award"

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE-RGR) is proud to announce the Ruger® M77® Hawkeye® Alaskan Rifle chambered in .375 Ruger has received a "Golden Bullseye Award" from the National Rifle Association's American Hunter magazine. The Golden Bullseye Awards recognize products "remarkable in terms of innovation, reliability, safety, and for providing shooters and hunters genuine value for their hard-earned dollar."

Although the .375 Ruger rifles are available in both Alaskan and African versions, the staff of American Hunter selected the Alaskan because it "stands alone for features that hardcore hunters appreciate." Features specifically mentioned include the famous controlled-round feed, three position safety, durable "Alaskan Black" finish, light and crisp LC6™ trigger, and the Hogue® OverMolded™ stock that "makes the rifle almost stick to your hands no matter the weather."

"We are extremely pleased to receive this award," said Ruger CEO Michael Fifer. "Our Voice of the Customer Program has helped guide our product development efforts and has resulted in several new products that are finding very receptive consumers. Being able to work with talented, like-minded organizations such as Hornady® has made our efforts that much more rewarding," he concluded.

The M77 Hawkeye African and Alaskan rifles chambered in .375 Ruger feature a windage-adjustable shallow "V" notch rear sight, and large white bead front sight for instant sight alignment. All are delivered with Ruger's patented scope rings that install on the integral mounts that never shoot loose. The rifles also have new, more effective recoil pads and the great new light and crisp Ruger LC6 triggers.

The .375 Ruger cartridge, winner of the AMERICAN HUNTER Golden Bullseye Award for Cartridge of the Year, was co-developed with Hornady Manufacturing. The big bore, big game cartridge, "can handle any game on earth" says the AMERICAN HUNTER staff. The new beltless cartridge fits the Ruger standard length action, the same one used for .270 Winchester and .30-'06 Springfield cartridges, yet delivers performance from a 20" barrel that equals the venerable .375 H&H from a longer magnum-length action with a 24" barrel.
