Once the engraving process is complete, all components must be heat-treated
to return them to the hardness required to meet the standards necessary
for all production Ruger firearms. Fine polishing and retouching of the
engraving design is often necessary following the heat-treating process.
Components are then refinished including bluing and patination prior
to assembly. Because of the expenditures made upon each engraved component,
extra care is taken during the reassembly process.
